(More customer reviews)I bought four of these through the Amazon site and their subsidiary seller.They turned out to be seconds or damaged or take offs and had scratches and gouges.The price was good, I had no desire to send them back due in part to postage costs so I had to install them carefully putting the damaged handles inside the closets, etc. where they did not show.It worked out ok...

That said, the units themselves, though they were a bit disheveled, are very nice units in terms of operation and appearance (when new) and I like them a lot.The outside door locksets on the house are all levers by Baldwin, about twice the money MSRP, and these Schlage Elan units compare favorably.

I bought five more units from an outside, i.e., not Amazon, source and am very happy with them.They were actually new and the price was good.I guess that's the way it goes when you try to buy too cheaply.
